Rafael Tamargo is a Portfolio and Relationship Manager in Glenmede’s Wilmington, Delaware office. In this role, he is responsible for providing investment advice, asset allocation and ongoing portfolio management for Glenmede clients. Mr. Tamargo partners with advisory, tax and wealth planning colleagues to understand client goals, provide tailored guidance and ensure clients’ wealth management objectives are fulfilled.

Prior to joining Glenmede, Mr. Tamargo served Wilmington Trust Investment Advisors as a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager. In those roles, he was responsible for providing portfolio management and equity research to Wilmington Trust’s quantitative and fundamental teams and managed more than $1.5 billion in assets. Before that, Mr. Tamargo was a Portfolio Manager/Analyst at Kalmar Investments Company, Greenville, Delaware, where he was responsible for security selection for the small cap growth and small-mid cap growth products. Prior to that, he worked at Wilmington Trust Corporation where he became Vice President and Director of Equity Research. In that role he supervised eight research analysts and created valuation models for a number of equity strategies. He has over two and half decades of experience in the investment management and securities businesses.

Mr. Tamargo has a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and economics from Temple University and a Masters of Science degree in accounting from the University of Illinois. He is fluent in Spanish. He is a member of the finance committee of Mount Cuba Center. Mr. Tamargo has made numerous media appearances on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Bloomberg Radio.
