Stewardship at Glenmede
Stewardship encompasses all aspects of how we operate, from our responsibility to our clients, to our employees and to the communities we serve. Glenmede and its employees are committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work. Financially, we support our communities through our Matching Giving Program, Annual United Way Campaign and various donation drives held throughout the year.
Employees participate in a number of volunteer projects, such as preparing care packages for those in need, tutoring students or speaking on career panels, and through their service on boards of directors. Stewardship at Glenmede is also evident through the well-being programs available to employees and through our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Education
Many children in our communities lack access to a quality education and to the resources and support to succeed. Through our ongoing partnerships with City Year Philadelphia, the Cristo Rey Program and Philadelphia Futures, among others, we provide resources, funds and development opportunities to youth in our area.
Our employees take part in volunteer activities throughout the year to further support children in Philadelphia and the cities where our regional offices are located. These volunteer projects include being pen pals with third graders at Foundation Academies in Trenton, virtually reading with local elementary school children through the United Way Vello Program in Philadelphia and donating and sorting books for Kids’ Book Bank in Cleveland.

At-Risk and Low-Income
Giving back to our at-risk and low-income neighbors is an important focus of our volunteer work. Our employees volunteer at Broad Street Ministry serving meals to those in need, help prepare homes with ACHIEVEability, and donate items for Thanksgiving goody-bags for children of Project HOME and essential items to families in the Providence House community.

Health & Well-being
We care deeply about the health and well-being of our employees and those in our communities. In addition to standard health insurance benefits, Glenmede offers employees ways to stay healthy both physically and mentally, including access to on-demand meditations and an on-site dietician. We encourage employees to be active, and hold friendly team-oriented step challenges and a yearly virtual 5k benefiting a selected nonprofit.
To help support the health needs in our communities, we host onsite Red Cross Blood Drives in our Philadelphia office and encourage regional employees to donate at local blood drives. We sponsor a Glenmede Team for the CHOP Philly Spin-In, which helps raise funds and awareness for pediatric cardiac research and care at CHOP.

United Way Campaign
Glenmede hosts a two-week United Way Campaign annually, helping to raise awareness for organizations doing important work in the communities where our offices are located. Through our ongoing partnership with the United Way, we encourage employees to donate to highlighted organizations in Philadelphia and our regions, or to a nonprofit of their choice. We also coordinate volunteer projects to assist these highlighted organizations. As a testament to our successful campaigns, Glenmede was awarded the Reaching Above & Beyond Award for the 2015-2016 United Way campaign.

Women at Glenmede
Our commitment to stewardship includes being advocates and champions for the success of women. In 2018, a group of female employees founded the Women in Investing Network at Glenmede (WING). WING hosts regular educational, career and professional development events, as well as networking opportunities, for women and men at the firm.
Glenmede is also a corporate sponsor of the Women in Investing Network (WIN) of Philadelphia and The Power of Professional Women (POWER). Glenmede has committed to sponsoring and mentoring a summer scholar from Girls Who Invest (GWI) each year. Over the years we have also volunteered with organizations supporting women struggling through various hardships, such as domestic abuse or homelessness.

Diversity
We view diversity, equity and inclusion as a vital aspect of our culture and stewardship efforts. Our commitment to DEI is evident in our recruiting process as we partner with local nonprofits, including Philadelphia Futures, Cristo Rey, City Year, Girls Who Invest and the Economic Club of DC, to identify a diverse class of students for Glenmede’s annual intern program.
Current employees take in-depth training to better understand unconscious biases and how to overcome and address those biases to benefit themselves, their peers and the overall workplace. On our internal blog, we share posts to help educate our employees and raise awareness for various monthly observances throughout the year, such as Black History Month, Women’s History Month and Pride Month.
