Glenmede Honored at Corporate Philanthropy Summit

Glenmede recognized among the Top 25 Most Charitable Givers

Philadelphia, May 06, 2009

Glenmede was recently honored in two categories at the Corporate Philanthropy Summit sponsored by the Philadelphia Business Journal.  Firms were ranked based on their contributions locally in cash, free services, and volunteer time.

Ranked 20th, based on our local cash contributions, Glenmede was recognized among the Top 25 Most Charitable Givers.  Also, they were a finalist as a Top Philanthropic Donor.  In recognition of these achievements, Glenmede was awarded two handsome plaques that now reside in President, Al Piscopo’s, office.   It is also noteworthy that Glenmede ranked 10th in cash donated per employee.

These awards are especially meaningful considering the other companies included in the PBJ survey.  Local giants, Independence Blue Cross and PECO, national firms, Blank, Rome and Bank of America, along with much larger area firms, were included in the survey.

Full results of the survey are available in the Corporate Philanthropy Summit insert included in the May 1-7 issue of the Philadelphia Business Journal accessible at http://philadelphia.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/stories/2009/05/04/focus1.html
